Mars is an artist and activist who spreads Trans Joy by sharing his art with the world. He’s a mixed media artist that is interested in the beauty of imperfection and the strength of radical honesty. Through sharing his life vulnerably he hopes to help folks feel less alone. We are all trying our best and he wants to honor that effort.

A Quote from the Artist: “I asked tons of Trans folks what Trans Joy means to them and drew their answers for this collection. I have always found freedom in drawing my creatures because they symbolized breaking away from the binary of my body. Before I was able to access medical transition my drawings were the only way I could express myself and my true gender. I am so honored to share these little folks from Planet Mars with the world. I hope they can help others as much as they help me.”

About the Organization: Unique Woman’s Coalition (UWC) is a Los Angeles based nonprofit created to address the emerging needs of the Black Trans community and is dedicated to being a collective voice centering the narratives and needs of Black Trans culture.
